3rd Grade
MATH
We are working on a lot of review from the year. Mainly, word problems, fraction, multiplication and division, etc.
We are now working on research on a country. We are finding out all of the interesting facts there are to find out about these places in the world. Then we are making a powerpoint and presenting it to our classmates. The kids are loving this and I am learning a thing or two as well!
WRITING
We are continuing our lessons on Mystery Science. I will be sending home updates on that each week. Also, we are moving into discussion and lessons about civil rights, economics, and geography.
In our read alouds we have been focusing on making meaning when we come across vocabulary that is unfamiliar. I use read alouds to model reading strategies students could use to help them understand what they are reading to increase their comprehension while reading independently. Along with this, we will be working on comparing information from two different text in order to answer comprehension questions.
