[CLICK "READ MORE" FOR TONS MORE PICS!] Prior to our field trip, we participated in a community clean up by walking around the school and a few neighborhood streets to rid it of trash. Then, we had a wonderful picnic lunch. Finally, we were off to the landfill. We had a blast today learning so much about the landfill and why we use them. We also learned about how to REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE and why it is so important! We learned that 8 million pounds of trash a day! How crazy is that? Of all of the trash that goes into the landfill 75% of it could have been recycled and reused. Once we got back from the landfill we had a writing camp out to write about if they think they should recycle or not and why. Ask your student what was the most fascinating part about their day!
